Ms Christina Callow, Specialist Clinical Psychologist
Ms Christina Callow is an Associate with Joondalup Psychology Centre. Christina has considerable experience working as both a Clinical Psychologist and as a Clinical Psychology Supervisor of psychology staff in an agency setting.
Aside from work as a Clinical Psychologist, Christina has a varied work history including working as a researcher and self- employed, running her own fitness centre. Christina returned to study psychology in.1997. Her research areas of interest were the social construction of identity for marginalised groups including homeless people and adolescents born overseas.
Through her work with agencies in the last seven years, Christina has developed a wide range of skills in working with a complex range of individuals and their families. This has included school aged children, adolescents and adults. Common client problems included anger management issues, anxiety, parenting issues and mental health. She has also undertaken extensive work with people experiencing and perpetuating domestic violence and has worked with people in the justice system. In this time she has undertaken a wide range of psychology assessments for the determination of cognitive and learning impairments and screening of autism and ADHD.
Christina has also run a range of groups for children and adults including parenting groups and anxiety and pain management groups. She continues to supervise staff undertaking such endeavours and also those working towards their specialist title in Clinical Psychology. In the past she has also supervised staff working in the early childhood area dealing with common problems like toileting, feeding, sensory and sleep issues.
Christina draws on a range of evidence based frameworks and methods to support her practice including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), schema therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, systems/family therapy and relationship therapy using developmental and solution focused approaches.

- Adult and childhood mental health. Depression and anxiety disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder.
- Complex presentations:- hoarding, pain management and personality disorders. High functioning autism and aggression and offending behaviour amongst adolescents and adults.
